Matthew Stevens

I am a fully certified teacher of the Alexander Technique.  I completed my 3 year, 1600 hour teacher training in 2003 and received my qualification from AmSAT.  Since then, I have continued to refine my skills by studying with senior practitioners from around the world.

In addition to my private practice, I have taught at yoga studios, hospitals, and colleges. I have given lessons to singers, golfers, business professionals, children, senior citizens, and everyone in between.

Yes, I have extensive experience and training, but my real strength as a teacher comes from the fact that I have used the technique on myself to overcome various physical challenges.

I have been injured a lot in my life, starting at age 4.  I have broken bones, tore ligaments, ripped muscles, jammed my joints, and experienced all sorts of aches and pains.  Some of it happened for being at the wrong place at the wrong time, and some of it was caused by having less than optimal posture and coordination.

I have tried countless treatments and exercises to deal with my pain, and nothing has worked as well as the Alexander Technique in restoring my natural balance and ease.

The technique has also improved how I play music, act on stage, play golf, take out the garbage, give a presentation, help my daughter with her homework, and just about every activity I do.

The technique has worked for me and has made my life better.  And I want to share it with as many people as I can.
